What is the car auction?
Japan has so many car auctions like I told a former post.
Car auctions have 2 types.
One is hand-style.
The other one is computer-style.
All auction used to do former style many years ago.
People haven’t been to car auction can’t imagine it easily.
Beside it is easier to imagine hand-style.
That’s standard way to do auction in the world.
The rule is quite simple.
If you want it, raise your hand.
Keep bidding until you can pay the amount.
Don’t touch your hair and glasses during auction going.
The auctioneer might think you are bidding!!
Even now a few car auction are doing hand-style, but not popular anymore. Hand-style takes 1-2min/car to sell. Waste of time…. I like it tho.
Computer-style is faster than that. It just takes 10-20sec/car. In addition, many cars can go at the same time. USS Tokyo has 12 lanes. It means 12 cars are sold at the same time.
Too busy to buy;-(
Computer style is bit complicated.
Auction will start from prices which seller decided.
Computers let prices go up and up. We can bid(hit switches) until your price comes. You have to left switches then because the computer keeps raising prices to make sure how many bidder there/ how much they can pay for. Then the seller will decide to sell/pass. After that, price comes back to highest bid and start competing. ( *USSTokyo doesn’t let price go back. So sellers have to decide sell/pass during bidding.)
There are more different auctions like fish market and flower market.
Fish market is doing hand-style.
Flower auction is so interesting.
It’s the similar to car auction but prices go down.
They do computer style but they start from very expensive price which no one can afford.
The price will go down and down.
First bidder who hit the switch wins.
That makes sense.
Don’t you think?
